Random Stuff

Today, I want to talk about lots of things. First, I just ordered the next book in Sarah McCarty's Hell's Eight series, Tracker's Sin. I can't wait to get it! I love all Sarah's books, but esp. this series. Have you read Sarah's Hell's Eight books?

Before his trade became his name, "Tracker" Ochoa was a scrawny Mestizo runaway. Now as fearsome as he once was frightened, he's joined the notorious Hell's Eight…and they have a job for him.

He must rescue kidnapped heiress Ari Blake and deliver her safely to the Hell's Eight compound—by any means necessary. Turns out that includes marrying her, if he means to escort her and her infant daughter across the Texas Territory. Tracker hadn't bargained on a wife—especially such a fair, blue-eyed beauty. But the erotic pleasures of the marriage bed more than make up for the surprise.

Tracker's well-muscled bronze skin and dark, dangerous eyes are far more exciting than any of Ari's former debutante dreams. In the light of day, though, his deep scars and brooding intensity terrify her. But he's her husband and she's at his mercy. With the frontier against them and mercenary bandits at their heels, Ari fears she'll never feel safe again.

Tracker, too, remembers what fear feels like. Though he burns to protect Ari, to keep her for himself always, he knows that money, history—and especially the truth—can tear them apart.

You can read more about it here: http://www.sarahmccarty.net/books/Tracker.html

Also, I just saw what appears to be Blackberry's answer to the iPad, only smaller. It's called the Blackberry PlayBook. I'm not sure it's something I'd get. First, it won't be cheap. Second, I just want the Kindle. LOL The iPad and the PlayBook are great, but not really my cup of tea. At any rate, go HERE and you can see a video.

Lastly, I wanted to share the blurb for the third book in my Cape May series.

What She Needs
by Anne Rainey
Samhain Publishing
Feb. 2011

Blurb:
Devon Mason and Con Walker are wonderful, honorable, loving, and completely devoted to her. All the things a woman looks for in a relationship. But what’s Tory supposed to buy not one but two lovers on V Day? Chocolate? How average is that? Their little love triangle is anything but average! When Con surprises her with a weekend in Cancun, just the three of them, Tory is all over it—until she realizes Con forgot to include Devon in the gift giving. Now their little love triangle is suffering, thanks to a couple of hard-headed men who both want to be number one.

Con had been content to let Devon take control at Christmas, but now it’s his turn to woo Tory. A weekend in Cancun seems the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Sun, sand, margaritas, and lots of hot, sweet loving with the woman who held the key to both their hearts and souls. When Devon steps up and lets him know he plans to surprise Tory with a trip to Aruba, Con’s possessive instincts kick in. He’d always been happy to share Tory with the guy he cares for like a brother. But the deeper Con falls in love, the harder it is to keep from ripping Tory away from Devon.

Well, what do you think? Hot enough for ya? ;)

  1. Hmmm, I haven't heard about the Blackberry PlayBook before. It looks like a neat little gadget. I have a sony eReader and an iPad. I prefer the iPad because it is backlit and also I can use several different book apps like Kindle, Borders, Barnes & Noble and iBooks apps. Also, I can change the size of the text so that I can read better. My eyesight is horrible. :(

Anyway, great blog post. I'm going to head over and see what the Blackberry PlayBook offers.

Have a wonderful day Anne :)

  2. My eyesight isn't so great these days either!! Paperback books are becoming harder and harder to read without my reading glasses.

The PlayBook definitely looks like a fun toy. I think I saw somewhere that the price will be btwn $500 and $1000.

  4. Tess--I forget who first turned me onto McCarty's writing, but boy once I bought one of her books I was hooked! Her writing steams up my reading glasses for sure. LOL

And thanks for the compliment! Although, that's not the official blurb (I suck at blurb writing, lol).

  5. I first read a book by her at EC. It's still there for sale--an earlier work for sure, but yummy. And then I joined the HQ board for Spice and Spice Briefs and chatted with her some. I simply adore her writing.

And for someone who isn't good at writing blurbs, I'd say you do a fine job of it. lol

  7. Tess--Regina had told me awhile back that McCarty had started her Promises series at EC, so I went to the site and ended up buying up all those, after reading the first Hell's Eight book. LOL

I'm really horrible at blurbs. The blurb writer at Samhain always makes them so much better. I wish I could hire her! LOL
